Xinhua Beijing, April 21st (Reporter Liu Yulong, Chen Biqi, Zhang Siwen) In order to meet the challenge of global climate change, more than 130 countries and regions have put forward the goal of carbon neutrality. Green low carbon and sustainable development have become an international consensus. During the 2022 Annual Meeting of Boao Forum for Asia, energy transformation and green and low-carbon development have once again become the hot focus of participants.

According to industry analysts, carbon neutrality is a systematic economic and social change, and the green and low-carbon development of energy is the key. Some interviewees said that green and low-carbon development has great potential. Actively promoting the synergy and complementarity of various energy sources, accelerating the integration and development of energy and construction, transportation, industry and other industries, and innovating new energy digital formats are important paths to realize green and low-carbon development of energy sources.

Energy transformation demand is urgent, green and low-carbon development potential is huge.

'For enterprises, we see that the demand for green energy is actually increasing. Despite the continuous changes in the international situation, the demand for green energy has not been fundamentally affected, and it has actually promoted the transformation.' Elizabeth Gaines, CEO of FMG Group, said that facing the 'double-carbon' goal, FMG Group, as an enterprise in the field of fossil fuels, faces great challenges. Enterprises have increased their investment in transformation and renewable energy, hoping that renewable energy can reduce costs.

Hu Jianhua, general manager of China Merchants Group, said that the transportation sector is a big consumer of electricity. In terms of carbon neutrality and peak carbon dioxide emissions, China Merchants Group is committed to making contributions with a positive attitude and constructive solutions, including accelerating the construction of port power stations and charging stations along highways.

Xiang Haiping, chief engineer of the National Energy Administration, said that green and low-carbon development in the energy sector is mainly reflected in four aspects. First of all, we should vigorously develop renewable energy and new energy. Second, on the premise of ensuring energy security, we will unswervingly achieve the goal of 'double carbon'. Third, the energy industry should improve the energy conversion efficiency. Fourthly, as the supply side, the energy industry should actively support the low-carbon transformation and development of the service energy industry.

Song Hailiang, Party Secretary and Chairman of China Energy Construction Group Co., Ltd. said that it is expected that the total energy consumption will increase by about 2% annually during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, and the electricity consumption of the whole society will increase by about 5% annually. The corresponding investment and construction market has great potential. At the same time, the green and low-carbon transformation of energy and the acceleration of technological innovation will bring great development opportunities to the energy and power sector.

According to Gao Jifan, chairman of Trina Solar, solar energy will play the most important role in the whole process of carbon neutrality. He said that it is estimated that by 2050, 50% of electric energy will come from solar energy, and with technological innovation, solar photovoltaic will become the cheapest, clean and safe energy in the world in the future.

'We feel that the green hydrogen industry is very promising and will bring huge business opportunities to our future economic transformation and development. In China, there may be an output value of about 3 trillion yuan waiting to be tapped and developed. ' Deng Jianling, general manager of China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd. said that Huaneng is deepening related research and promoting the energy revolution by building a 'green hydrogen industrial park' with electricity and green hydrogen.

Achieving carbon-neutral investment requires many efforts.

'Many institutions predict that the world will need huge investment if it is to achieve carbon neutrality. For China, this challenge is even more arduous.' Liu Qiao, dean of Guanghua School of Management, Beijing University, said that by 2050, China's investment in carbon-neutral related fields is expected to exceed 250 trillion yuan.

The reporter was informed that at present, many enterprises have accelerated their business layout in related fields. Pang Xiaogang, deputy general manager of State Grid Corporation of China and a member of the party group, said that for enterprises in the power industry, the acceleration of 'double carbon' has great challenges, including the pressure of security and supply, the progress of scientific and technological innovation, and the timeliness of supporting policies. At present, State Grid has launched a five-year investment plan of over $350 billion, which will focus on the 'double-carbon' goal to promote the upgrading of traditional power grid to energy internet.

Liu Qiao analyzed that there are three things that the existing financial system can do for huge investment. First of all, the most important thing is to form the discovery mechanism of carbon price as soon as possible, and let enterprises incorporate carbon price into cost accounting through market factors. Secondly, fiscal policy should play a more active role, and we can consider issuing some long-term government bonds with a maturity of 30 to 40 years, or 'carbon neutral bonds'. In addition, it is necessary to guide green finance, green bonds, green credit, and PE, VC and other more active investments in technology fields related to carbon neutrality.

'In terms of promoting low-carbon investment and financing, it is necessary to guide investors to lean towards low-carbon and carbon-reduction energy projects and energy projects that provide support for low-carbon and carbon-reduction projects through policy measures, and at the same time, it is necessary to guide financial institutions to provide more financial support to low-carbon and carbon-reduction projects and energy projects that guarantee national energy security.' Say to Hai Ping.

Zhou Xiaochuan, vice chairman of Boao Forum for Asia, chief representative of China and president of China Finance Association, said that China has initially formed a unified carbon market. Next, China needs to optimize the incentive mechanism of carbon market.

'The direction of optimization mechanism should be from spot to forward market, including futures and options.' Zhou Xiaochuan said that the optimal incentive mechanism to achieve carbon neutrality lies in whether the tasks and objectives set by the state can be reasonably decomposed into every place, department and industry.

Promote sustainable energy integration development and energy conservation and emission reduction.

'Energy integration development is the main direction of the whole energy transformation and development.' Song Hailiang said that the development of energy integration highlights the 'four major integrations', that is, cross-border integration, factor integration, industrial integration and regional integration. It is not a simple addition, but a deep integration like water and milk. At the same time, the energy integration development is not a substitute for the energy development of other industries, but hand in hand with industries such as industry, construction, transportation, etc. to make a green and low-carbon transformation of energy.

'We summed up three sentences when doing strategic research on medium-and long-term energy planning, that is, the main path of our energy development should be clean fossil energy, scale of clean energy, and integration of various energy sources at present and in the future.' Liu Jizhen, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the State Key Laboratory of New Energy Power System, said that the integration of multiple energy sources means the integration and development, which is the main path for energy transformation and the realization of 'double carbon' goal.

Liu Jizhen introduced that from the technical level, the development of energy integration is mainly in three aspects. First, multi-energy can complement each other, that is, traditional energy and new energy can be combined into a stable, reliable and safe energy that can support the development of life and production. The second is the interaction between supply and demand, which promotes the close linkage between supply side and demand side through market price and technological innovation. Third, give full play to modern information technology, so that energy flow, information flow, value flow and other multi-flow integration.

'In the long run, solar energy and wind energy are the most important solutions for green development, but the most urgent task at present is to save energy and reduce emissions, especially to act as soon as possible to reduce energy consumption in the building sector.' Zhang Yue, chairman and president of Broad Technology Group, said that the energy consumption in the construction field is one of the biggest problems in the world, and the situation of energy consumption of building materials and construction waste disposal is very severe. At the same time, energy conservation and emission reduction in these areas still need to be strengthened. Zhang Yue's suggestions: First, apply effective carbon reduction technologies, such as building insulation and thicker windows; The second is to increase the utilization of waste heat in various fields; The third is to accelerate the research and application of durability of building materials.

'Climate change affects all of us, and energy conservation is the best way to reduce carbon. Everyone's saving one degree of electricity, one drop of water, green travel, etc. is related to the realization of the' double carbon' goal.' Liu Jizhen said that the whole society should participate in this energy reform with a positive attitude.
